Argentina is the largest country of Latin America. The wine story began with Jesuit monks who brought vines in the mid-16th century. Nowadays, Argentina grows a wider range of grapes than any other wine producing country in South America does. This diversity reflects the backgrounds of the immigrant winegrowers who arrived from France, Spain and Italy. The most important wine regions of the country are located in the province of Mendoza, San Juan (Cuyo region) and La Rioja.
