The location
The Coquimbo region, 300 miles (520 km) north of Santiago, is a unique terrain with the distinction of being Chile's northernmost appellation.
12-year old vines are planted in a desert terrain at altitudes of 1300-3300 feet (400-1000 meters). The climate is a truly unique blend of desert dryness and maritime influences based on its proximity to the sea.
Philosophy
In this unique piece of land, Italian oenologist Giorgio Flessati applies his talents, which require a completely different kind of care and set of winemaking skills.
The results are wines that reflect where they are from, without trying to be like wines from other regions. These are cool climate, high acidity wines, a rarity among often-overripe Chilean wines. The team in the winery makes no attempt to mask these characteristics. The wines proudly display them as markers that these are not just wines from Chile but wines from the very special Coquimbo region of Chile.
